Solar panel were formally distributed among beneficiaries free of cost at Rajarhat upazila parishad office premises in Kurigram district at 11.30am on Tuesday (April 12).
Rajarhat upazila Nirbahi Officer Noor-E Tasnim was present as the chief guest while Zila Parishad member Mahbuba Begum Lovely was presided in the distribution ceremony.
Rajathar upazila Agriculture Officer Sapna Akhter, upazila vice chairman Ashikur Rahman Sabu Mondol, Rajarhat Sadar UP chairman Enamul Haque, Chakirpashar UP chairman Abdus Salam, former vice chairman of Kurigram Sadar upazila Parishad Noornabi Sarkar, Rajarhat press club president and secretary SM Bablu and Rafikul Islam respectively, local elites and beneficiaries came from various unions of the upazila were present there.
Funded by Kurigram Zila Parishad a total of 16 solar panels containing 50 watt were distributed among poor and ultra-poor families who will be benefitted.
Assistant Professor Mahbuba Begum Lovely also member of Kurigram Zila Parishad is developing roads, schools, colleges, Madrashas, mosques, temples, setting up tube wells for drinking pure water for the people of rural areas and many social activities by ADP fund.
Assistant Professor Mahbuba Begum Lovely told this correspondent that the distributed solar panels will perform lighting in the houses of poor and ultra-poor people as well as roads which will very joyful event in my life.
